Balto-The main character! The outkast of the town who is liked by nobody because he is part wolf- and his only friends are Boris, a Russian snow goose, and Muk and Luk, 2 Polar bear cubs. He has a crush on Jenna, the most beautiful and popular dog in town, and Jenna has a crush on him.He starts to get interested in sled racing, leading to his crush on Jenna, but Steele, the main dog who bullies him, won't let it happen. But once Steele's team gets lost in a blizzard while trying to get the antitoxin back to Nome, Balto comes to the rescue. After fighting with Steele, Balto finds his way home with his wolf instincts and he finds out who he really is, and he gets back to Nome with the antitoxin, making him a hero! Then, Balto and Jenna fall in love!!!!!

Jenna-The most beautiful and popular dog in town. Steele has a crush on her, but she doesn't like him back. Instead, she likes Balto. Her master, Rosy, is sick with the diptheria epidemic, and Jenna fears that Rosy will die like all the other children if she doesn't get the antitoxin quick enough. Balto comes back with the antitoxin, and Rosy gets better, with Balto being Jenna's hero. At the end of the movie they fall in love.

Steele-The 'bad guy' of the movie. He's the main person who bullies Balto around because of his origin. He has a crush on Jenna, but Jenna doesn't like him back. He's the leader of the sled dog team, and he always takes glory for himself-he doesn't even care about the dying children. He just needs the fame. He tries to lead the team back to Nome but gets caught in a blizzard, and then Balto jumps in, and Balto pushes Steele off of a cliff. Steele walks back to Nome and tells everyone that Balto died in the storm with the rest of the team, but they find out that he's lying and everyone betrays him, and Balto is their new leader!

'The Trio'

These are Steele's followers, (Star, Kaltag and Nikki, left to right) They help bully Balto around, but secretly they hate Steele behind his back. After Balto helps get the antitoxin back to Nome, Balto's their best friend, and they betray Steele.

Dixie and Sylvie- Jenna's best friends. Sylvie is the gossip queen of Nome, while Dixie is madly in love with Steele. But, when Dixie finds out who Steele really is, she hates him. (left to right-Steele, Dixie and Sylvie)

The White Wolf-We're not sure who this really is, but after Balto falls and loses the medicine and loses hope, the White Wolf shoes Balto who he really is and helps him regain strength and hope.

Boris-A negative Russian snow goose who is Balto's best friend-Who also helps him along the journey.

Muk and Luk-2 clumsy Polar Bears (Luk being the large one and Muk being the smaller one) who are Balto's best friends. They call Boris 'Uncle Boris' and they attempted to swim and save Balto from drowning. Luk doesn't talk.
